More on Twitter

Hi everyone!

Now that you all have signed up for Twitter and know how to use it, here are some unique "Twitterers" we would like to share with you:

@statesman - The Statesman does a GREAT job in communicating with its followers. They even provide links to other news organizations, which is quite unusual!

@cnnbrk - This is CNN's Twitter account for breaking news and the latest updates on major stories.

@utknightcenter - This is the account for UT's Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, a blog that monitors daily journalism news in the Americas. This account works pretty much as a news feed: the posts that are published on the blog go automatically to the Knight Center's Twitter account. (Also available in Spanish and Portuguese.)

@APStylebook - The official Twitter account for the AP Stylebook, where you can ask questions [it's not guaranteed that they're going to be answered, though] and read tips. Very useful. This account has over 17,000 followers!

And, as an example of someone who uses hashtags (#) and RTs (Retweets) effectively, check out @GinaMChen, a veteran journalist who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Communications at Syracuse University.

Finally, a reminder: you can subscribe to each of these users' Twitter feed by clicking on the orange RSS icon on their profile page! (bottom right side)
